Demand Letters and Other Legal Documents

Often writing a formal “demand letter” is the first step in exercising your legal rights. A demand letter, required by statute for some causes of action, is a written request to another person that asks the individual to correct whatever wrong has occurred.

Examples of situations where demand letters are necessary:

• When making demands for repairs of rental property
• When asking a landlord to return portions of a withheld security deposit
• When asserting rights under a contract that the other party fails to acknowledge or has breached (failed to perform)
• When challenging a consumer fraud scam

Members of our staff assist you in drafting these letters and review the final draft to ensure that proper code sections appear, all the facts are included, etc.

While demand letters are the most common form of document we will help you draft, we also help students draft declarations, settlement agreements, waivers and other documents as needed.
